Sowing Seeds of Hope is a non-profit ministry working with the people of Perry County to bring hope to an area faced with many difficulties.  In light of these challenges, Sowing Seeds of Hope partners with the local community, organizations, and churches to work towards a better future for the people.
Sowing Seeds of Hope Mission Statement - "Faith in Action"

The mission of Sowing Seeds of Hope is to improve the quality of living and working in Perry County through an improved educational system which will develop job training skills consistent with local job needs and further economic and human development through enhanced social and physical infrastructures to meet existing and further needs, while improving agricultural markets, housing, health care, and transportation.  Promoting tourism, recreational areas, and attracting retirees are desired economic development tools.

Sowing Seeds of Hope Vision

We envision a future for Perry County as rich as her Black Belt soil.  In the future, Perry County will be a vital community with an effective rural trading center that creates opportunities and training for jobs in the agricultural, industrial, and retail sectors with unified communication and cooperation among all citizens, regardless of ethnic or economic status.  It will have strong, progressive leadership and educational, social, and recreational programs for all ages.  It will be a picturesque community featuring our historical and cultural heritage in a crime-free and clean environment.

Sowing Seeds of Hope Values

We value hope.  Our hope rests in common belief in God.  Every person is encouraged to discover and fulfill his or her God-given mission.

We value faith.  Beyond our faith in God, we have faith in the local communities of Perry County and the ability of the local people to dream, set priorities, and act.

We value trust.  Our primary hope for relationships of trust is kinship in the family of God, which ultimately takes supremacy over all divisions of theology, politics, race, and socioeconomic position.

Sowing Seeds of Hope Principles

We are guided by the principles of empowerment.  Allowing and encouraging Perry County residents to define the dream, invest in its realization, offer hope to themselves, and maintain control of their own futures.
We are guided by the principles of mobilization.  Discovering and utilizing the capacities already present in the community.
We are guided by the principles of networking.  Building and rebuilding relationships between local residents, associations, and institutions, both inside and outside Perry County.
